Welcome for 'Belated' Plastic Recycling Initiative

12.00.00am UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 14th Feb 2005

MP Vincent Cable said that he was "pleased that the Council had given in to strong public and political pressure to introduce a pilot study for plastic recycling.

"The Council has surrendered the leadership role in recycling which Richmond had several years ago and I started a petition to get plastic recycling going that the Council has been prodded into action. Too little, too late: but at least action is now being taken."
