MPs Confront Health Bosses over NHS 'Shake Out'2.14.18pm UTC (GMT +0000) Mon 10th Oct 2005 Borough MPs Vincent Cable and Susan Kramer and Kingston MP Ed Davey met NHS bosses from the Strategic Health Authority this week to discuss the big uncertainties hanging over local health services in the wake of the planned reorganisation of the NHS recently announced by its top civil servant, Sir Nigel Crisp. Vincent Cable said that the issues at the top of his agenda were: • The future of Teddington Hospital once it ceases to be run by the borough based Primary Care Trust (PCT) • The uncertainty hanging over local PCT staff - the community nurses, physiotherapists and others - who face being excluded from the NHS and being made to compete for their jobs • The loss of accountability and joint working with the Council and the NHS if the PCT is wound-up and amalgamated with other PCTs in London
